Placement Description

Fall 2014 Placement


Chase Elementary is located in eastern Baltimore County and serves a diverse
community with a wide range of socioeconomic factors. Many students live in homes
averaging from $300,000 to $400,000, while approximately half (48.7%) of students
receive free and reduced meals. Chase Elementary students are culturally diverse; 29%
of the students are African American, 66% of the students are Caucasian, and 5% are
of other races.
Chase Elementary has an enrollment of 367 students and embraces an inclusion
only environment. There are about 20-25 students per classroom. Approximately 17.7%
of their students are in the Special Education inclusion setting and .8% are in the ESOL
Program.

Spring 2015 Placement


Vincent Farm Elementary serves a diverse community located in eastern
Baltimore County. Students come from a wide range of socioeconomic, academic, and
cultural backgrounds. Approximately, 37% of all students receive free and reduced
meals. Vincent Farm Elementary students are culturally diverse; 25% of the students
are African American; 52% of students are Caucasian, 12% of students are Asian, 7%
are Hispanic, and 4% are of two or more races.
Vincent Farm Elementary has an enrollment of 818 students with a school
capacity of only 699. There are about 22-25 students per classroom. The school is

overcrowded and in need of extensions to provide the necessary space to educate


students. Vincent Farm embraces an inclusion only environment but does have selfcontained environments for FALS students. Approximately 10% of their students are in
Special Education, 3% display Limited English Proficiency, and 5% are Gifted and
Talented.
