Recently, I had entered a writing festival through my school. A little background before
I tell you my experience, I love writing, it is my most dearest and faithful passion of mine, there is so
much beauty in it. However, ironic as it is Im not very public with my poems, novels, journal entries,
ect. but that all changed in one day. I decided to enter my school writing festival and I entered a piece
that I put together in a under a minute wasnt really trying my best because I have never entered a
private/personal piece in public before. Having said that, my entry was still placed third in the point of
view category.
The writing festival in Merced started in 1984 and for 31 years they have been changing
people and how they write. I took it apon myself to send in two entries this year, which is also my first
year. I am proud of this accomplishment because writing has always been a huge part of my life and
seeing how my writing affecting people it meant even more to me. I want to continue writing and
teaching people not how to write but just writing.
