Defining Criteria

1. Overt performance statement:

a. Illustrate an animal and select a habitat, food web and animal kingdom
for your new discovery.
b. Write a brief summary of the animals habitat, food web, animal
kingdom, characteristics and ways of living. (how they get food, how
they nurse their young etc.)
2. Condition of this lesson
a. The students will have resources such as magazines, computers and
pictures to incorporate the features of multiple animals into one
creature.
b. Students must use their creative minds to successfully accomplish the
objectives
3. Criterion of this lesson
a. By the end of the lesson, Students will have created an animal of their
own. These animals will be illustrated on paper with brief description of
the required information of their new discoveries.
