To whom it may concern,
Please consider this application for a teaching position. As my resume reveals, I graduated
Magna Cum Laude from Manhattan Colleges 5-year Masters Program with a B.S in Early
Childhood and Childhood Education and a M.S in Special Education. In addition, I
concentrated in mathematics and psychology. I am in the process of obtaining my New York
State Certification. I have passed the edTPA, the EAS exam, Multi-Subject CST, and the
Students with Disabilities CST. I have also passed the Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills
exam.
My substitute teaching experiences in the Chappaqua Central School District, along with my
student teaching experiences at Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School and Public School 86
in the Bronx, afforded me to assume all the responsibilities of a teacher in various grade levels.
These experiences allowed me to work with diverse populations and differentiate lessons based
on varying abilities, including learning disabled, ADHD, Emotionally disturbed, ESL, Autistic,
Oppositional-Defiant, and gifted and talented.
I feel confident and prepared to take on the challenges this teaching experience will offer. I am
eager to demonstrate my talent and teaching skills within a district that is committed to high
standards in the education of children.
I look forward to an opportunity to meet with you and further discuss my qualifications. In the
meantime, should you need to reach me, please feel free to call me at 914-329-4761 or email
me at adauria.student@manhattan.edu. Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,

Alexa L. DAuria
