The Divers Horror

By Elton Camp
A mountain lake Ron would explore
It was a spot hed never dived before
Not another person was around
He heard no usual nature sound
Not a single bird or a frog
Or turtle splashing from a log
This seems a bit strange to me
But underwater Ive come to see.
He donned his diving outfit
Through the water did flit
Not a fish to be found
Nor water plants around
Ron puzzled it in his head
Can everything here be dead?
Suddenly, he saw a horrible sight
One that caused Ron much fright
Two skeletons appeared to grin
It made poor Rons head spin
When bony arms toward him extended,
He was certain that his life was ended
In panic, to the surface Ron swam
To the shore, then his car, then scram
The lake, he learned, was a place of dread
It was inhabited only by the living dead

A ghastly sight
