Overall Goal of Lesson: Students will understand that cultures create fabric traditions that have specific
function.
Instructional Objectives: Students will create a cut-paper mola.

Guided Practice: Observation and assist students as they work on their molas.
Independent Practice: students will decide on what colors they will use to incorporate on
their molas.
Lesson Closure: Ask questions regarding information mentioned at the beginning of class
about the mola; what was retained (?)
Assessment Methods/Strategies: observation of class as a whole.
Resources (supplies, equipment, software, etc.): Assorted colors of construction paper, Pencils, Sharpie,
Scissors, Glue.
Reflection: How well did the students follow instructions? Did the students show independent choices
regarding colors used to create their mola? Did the students find this lesson complicated?
