Overall Goal of Lesson:


_To learn new vocabulary-verbs that end in car, gar, zar, and understand how to use
demonstrative adjectives.
Instructional Objectives:
To the end of the class, students will recognize seven verbs ending in car, seven with gar, and six with
zar endings and learn the how to apply/use demonstrative adjectives.
Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) &
Key Vocabulary:
ELPS: (typed out completely)
All knew vocabulary
Higher Order Questions:
Students will write a complete sentence in Spanish using a verb of their choice about something they did
yesterday.
Student Activities: (Keep in mind the following: Scaffolding, Independent or Cooperative activities, Groupings, Reading,
Writing, Listening, Hands-On/Minds-On, Connections to previous knowledge, etc)
_Prezi presentation, demonstrative adjectives presentation with an apple and two books, guided practice with ten sentences to
fill in the blank, lesson summary by reviewing all 20 verbs

__ Prezi presentation about verbs that end in car, gar, and zar, and demonstrative
adjectives.
__ Before Prezi presentation, teacher goes over the Bell ringer assignment.
Modeling:
_ Teacher acts out or/and asks students to participate in demonstrations of demonstrative

adjectives with an apple and 2 books.
The teacher will place the apple and books at different distances (first the apple and then
the book) to explain how we can use this, that, these, and those in the Spanish language.
Guided Practice: In class assignment worksheet
8-10 mnts
__ Teacher will guide the students to fill in the blank of 10 questions.

Independent Practice:
Bell ringer: Students translate two words to Spanish (cashier and cash register).

Lesson Closure:
Teacher reviews with students all 20 verbs with students asking students for the English or
Spanish translations. Teacher would say como se dice

Informal assessment of new vocabulary by class participation.
