of
FREE
TO
BLGT:
To develop
confidence and
security by providing
a strong support
system.

Helping teens work

through questions
about their sexual
identity.

Aid in preventing
anxiety, depression
and risky behavior
that accompanies
identifying with
LGBT.

Meet our CoLeaders:

Erin OConner and Keandra Potts
Keandra is a part of the teaching staff at
Jackson High School, while Erin is the
11th grade school counselor.
They teamed up to start this group
because they were aware of the needs
that these struggling students had and
were ready to create a group to support
them. These women are reliable, readily
available and passionate about the
students as well as LGBT needs.

commitment. Filled with other students who
are struggling or have been in the shoes of
those who are.
A closed group, trying their best to keep the
thoughts of others confidential as they
grow individually as well as together.

Orientation:
Confidentiality is really important to us!
Because of this, we will have a one on one
orientation with each student before we
welcome them into the group.
During this orientation, we will discuss why
the student wants to be a part of what we are
doing, and what they would want to gain from
it.

Every Monday, FREE TO BLGT will meet in
Miss. Potts classroom right after school until
4:00pm. Since this group is confidentiality

the meetings will be held until after
orientation.
Erin OConner will hold orientation in her
office so that the meetings will be in a safe
and familiar environment.
The student leader of the group will also be
available during lunch hours to meet with the
group members for further support. This
