Adjusting selector mechanism

Note
The following points
are essential to ensure
correct adjustment of
selector mechanism:
Moving parts of
selector mechanism
and elements
transferring force must
be in proper condition.
Selector mechanism
must move freely.
Gearbox, clutch and
clutch mechanism
must also be in proper
condition.
Gearbox must be in
neutral.
Carefully lever selector
lever gaiter off centre
console.
Then unscrew selector
lever knob with
selector lever gaiter.

Rubber
cover for
selector
lever
housing
must be
removed
-arrows-.
Measure
distance
between
body and
selector
mechanism.

Distance -amust be 37
mm.
If this is not
the case,
adjust
dimension
-a- as
follows:
Loosen push
rod bolt
-arrow-.
The
connection
between
push rod and
selector
mechanism
must move
freely.
Set
dimension
-a- by
moving
selector
mechanism.
Tighten bolt
-arrow- for
push rod to
25 Nm.
Loosen ball
housing nuts
-arrow Aand
-arrow B-.
The ball
housing
must be
adjusted so
that it is
horizontal.
Then tighten
nuts for ball
housing to
25 Nm.

Loosen
selector rod
bolt -arrow-.
The
connection
between
selector rod
and selector
mechanism
must move
freely.
Adjust
selector
lever so that
it is
positioned
slightly to the
rear.
The
distances -aof both lugs
of the ball
stop to ball
housing
must be
equal.
Tighten bolt
for selector
rod to
25 Nm.
