Dear Kuroda Yoshitaka,

It would be my great honour to design and build a fortress for Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the Odera. My
broad knowledge and impressive architectural skills with buildings will mean your fortress will be
impenetrable to our enemies and will contain multiple levels of defence the honmaru, ninomaru and
sannomaru. The castle for the shogun will stand in the ninomaru and there will be residences for the
Samurai to reside. My plans include very tall walls that will make it impossible to climb with a wide
moat surrounding the compound, making it impossible for the enemy to tunnel under our walls. Built with
heavy stone and hard wood the fortress will be cost effective yet providing impressive defense from those
who wish to bring us harm. I propose we build this fortress in the Kanto area of Edo nestled in the
plains.
