    • Blindsided by betrayal
    “They saw him in the distance, and before he reached them,
    they plotted to kill him. ‘Here comes that dreamer!’ they said to
    each other.”

    • Blindsided by change

    pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty

    1. IT TAKES THE PRIDE OUT OF MY DREAM

    If a dream is from God…

    • It will serve others


    “God has sent me here to keep you and your families alive so
    that you will become a great nation.”

    • It will benefit the body of Christ

    world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body,
    in which He speaks and acts, by which He fills everything with

    2. IT PREPARES MY CHARACTER TO MATCH THE


    DREAM
    “‘I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And
    now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves
    for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent
    me ahead of you.’” Gen. 45:3-5 (NIV)

    3. IT GETS ME TO THE PLACE I NEED TO BE


    “We know that in all things God works for good with those who
    love him, those whom he has called according to His
    purpose.” Rom. 8:28 (TEV)

    • Release bitterness
    • Rest in God’s sovereignty

    • Respond to opportunity
