About this week

Reading: This week students are moving through several books and
need framework for ways to think about all of the information they are
accumulating. Teaching them to compare and contrast gives them
another way to think about what they are reading and encourages
them to linger over books as well as talk longer about the topic with
their reading groups. They will compare and contrast information from
the books.

Reading Log - Monday and Tuesday for Spanish

books. Wednesday and Thursday for English book.

Writing: The students will continue Animal Research. They will be

allowed to use Nonfiction News and the iPads to research their animals USED SMALL TOYS THAT YOUR CHILD HAS AT HOME AND
during Centers to collect facts and add pages to their All About Book. WANT TO DONATE FOR THE TREASURE BOX, AS PART OF
OUR CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE.
Math: Measurement: We will continue the Fractions Unit. Partition
COLORED PENCILS, HAND SANITIZER GEL.
circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the
shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases
half of, fourth of, and quarter of.
Science: Science Test about Organisms and Plant observation . New
Unit. Fun with food groups. Students will learn to make healthy food
choices.
