ECA was researched, made, studied, and improved by several investigators.
Many factors were taken into consideration building these robots that are
human mocking-like. Behavior is one way of getting the other person to stay
engaged in a conversation as well as gestures and level of interactions.

Embodied conversational agents are

intelligent agents created because of the
uprising interest in technology in the current
era. Becoming more personal with a tool
such as technology is what attracts most
customers therefore, the creation of an
intelligent agent. To make the agents
believable has key factors such as behavior,
gestures, facial expressions and even tone of
voice. Implementing such characteristics into
these robots is what makes human beings
more engaged in the conversation. A
connection with a deep bond between both
is important to create a stimulating
conversation which is another greater focus.
Once that is established, a greater possibility
of believability about information such as
medical results from an intelligent agent
could be taken more into consideration to a
human as they will rely on this tool for such
information.

"A key factor to analyze in the recognition of

emotions is the mouth shape. For each one of the 7
basic emotions, its contour changes in many different
ways -Cerezo, 2006

Mouth expressions and voice features are

important for the recognition of emotions, which
makes it easier for the computer to display the
required affection towards the converser.

Robots are more trusted when shown some

sort of compassion towards the known subject.
That is why it is important for emotion to be
shown during the conversation between the
human and agent. This can lead to a better
connection and understanding between on
another.
Sharing a connection between a robot will help
the human have better understanding of the
vast amount of knowledge a robot may carry.
This could lead to a greater use of information a
human can make with what it has leading to
greater doings.
