To whom it may concern,
I am honored to apply for Assistant Principal with your school district. I was recently promoted to Interim Assistant
Principal at New Brighton Middle School for the remaining 2014/2015 school year. In this position, I have had the
opportunity to work closely with the Principal in implementing his overall vision and goals for the school. I manage
student discipline and help implement positive behavior management techniques using PBIS. I manage day to day
operational and facility use including maintenance and safety work orders. I am currently developing the planning,
training, and scheduling for the state-wide testing (CAASPP) including both the practice and summative tests. I have
recently applied to National University into the administrative credentials program and will begin classes in May. In
addition, I will be graduating with a Masters of Science in Instructional Science and Technology from CSUMB on May
16, 2015.
For the last six years I have been a highly qualified teacher teaching sixth grade Humanities and Computer Technology
electives. I also served as Student Council Advisor in which I organized various school activities and helped foster
leadership skills in my students. As an Assistant Principal, my goals are for students to learn the necessary academic
standards and technological skills in a rigorous classroom setting.
As Assistant Principal, I look to balance administrative duties while working closely with the principal to promote a
positive learning environment. I seek to implement strategies to close performance gaps and help students reach
their academic goals. I aspire to establish a school culture that empowers and prepares students for college and
beyond. I seek to encourage collaboration amongst teachers and administration in order to implement the schools
programs and goals.
Along with the above, I am very approachable and have a good rapport with students, parents, and teachers. I am
proactive, highly organized, solution-oriented, and have effective communication skills. I am also very knowledgeable
of adolescent physical and intellectual development.
