Sixth Annual Harvest Fest coming September 6!


Returning to the harvest celebrations of the 1920-1940's, the Hermantown Historical Society is
planning their special fall event on Saturday, September 6. The Sixth Annual Harvest Fest begins at 9:00 a.m.
with something for everyone to enjoy until the closing at 4:00 p.m. Throughout the day there will be a variety
of food vendors, musicians, artisans, activities for children, and vendors displaying their wares. Covering the
area from the Ugstad Rd. to the Community Building (5255 Maple Grove Rd.), the society is planning for a
large crowd to attend the community celebration, with plenty of parking spaces available. (Watch for designated parking signs)

Children's activities: Face Painting, Hay Wagon Rides, Miniature Train Rides, Simek Farms Pumpkin

Maze, Petting Farm Animals, Baby Pumpkin paintings

History Center's new displays: Fire of 1918, Hermantown School staff, Collection of Barbers blades,
Genealogy & family history, WWI uniform

Musicians: Beaconaires; 9:00 -10:30; Ripple Effect; 10:45 -11:30; Neil Witikkos Glenwood Guys;

11:45 -12:45; Jim Grussendorf and Company; 1:00 - 2:30; Just Friends from Esko; 2:45 - 3:45

Duane Benoits (O) Gauge Model Railroad Demonstration in the Community Building.
Artisian Demonstrations, Food Vendors, Vintage Tractors, and Motors
Variety of vendors from Northeastern Minnesota will set up their booths around the area of the Community
Building to offer: farm produce, plants & beeswax items, breads and cookies, maple syrup, honey, jams &
candles, home and cabin furnishings, soaps, jewelry, necklaces, purses& scarves, Rosemalling, clothing,
wood carvings, wooden furniture, signs, paintings, pottery, birdhouses, ornaments & note cards

Admission is $5.00 for a family; $2.00 for adults; $1.00 for youths from 6 to 18; under
5 Free.
