Which Is More Appealing?

Fiction and non-fiction both make great stories, but which one is more
appealing to readers? In Literature class, we read two fantastic survival stories,
Hatchet, which is a fictionalized story, and a real life story called Lost Trail. To
begin with, Brian and Donn both had limited experience. For instance, Brian
watched T.V. and read survival stories. On the other hand, Donn was a Boy Scout
and knew a little about being alone in the wilderness. In both stories, the
characters tried to make fire. Although Brian failed to make a fire at first, he kept
trying and succeeded; when Donn tried to make a fire, it did not work after a few
tries, and then he gave up. Another difference was how the characters found
other people and returned to safety. In Hatchet, Brian stayed in one place and
had only one shelter. While Brian stayed in one location, in Lost Trail, Donn kept
walking until he found civilization. If you have not read these two books yet, you
should! In the end, I enjoyed the non-fiction story, Lost Trail more because the
character is more realistic when compared to Hatchet. I believe the realistic
element is more appealing to readers.
