AUTM 101
Automotive Shop Safety
2 LCC Credits
This course will cover shop safety, tool safety, personal safety and automotive career exploration. You will be
familiarized with shop policies and procedures including hazardous waste disposal, along with laws and
regulations that affect automotive repair facilities.
AUTM 110
Auto Electrical Fundamentals
4 Credit Hours
This course covers basic electrical/electronic theory and how circuits work. Electrical test equipment will be
discussed. Students will learn to access wiring diagrams, wiring repair in vehicles, and repair malfunction. This
course meets NATEF Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) and Master Automotive Service Technology (MAST)
standards for electricity/electronics.
AUTM 112
Battery/Start/Charge Systems
2 LCC Credits
This course covers automotive battery, starter and charging systems theory, operation and diagnosis. This course
meets NATEF Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) and Master Automotive Service Technology (MAST) standards
for electricity/electronics.
AUTM 150
Steering and Suspension I
2 LCC Credits
This course introduces the student to inspection and maintenance of suspension and steering systems. This
course meets NATEF Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) standards for suspension and steering systems.
AUTM 160
Heating/Air Conditioning I
1 LCC Credit
This course introduces the student to inspection and maintenance of vehicle heating and air conditioning systems.
This course meets NATEF Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) standards for heating and air conditioning systems.
AUTM 250
Steering and Suspension II
2 LCC Credits
This course covers the theory and operation of steering and suspension systems including two-wheel and fourwheel electronic alignment systems, and electronic steering and suspension systems. Wheel/tire vibration and
noise will be covered. This course meets NATEF Automotive Service Technology (AST) and Master Automotive
Service Technology (MAST) standards for suspension and steering systems.
