Severe storm safety seminar

Severe weather is always a concern, but springtime always
brings to mind the possibility of
tornados and powerful storms,
as well as the need to prepare
for it.
Thats why Farnsworth Offices
has scheduled another severe
weather seminar for our tenants
and staff for 12:30 pm Tuesday,
April 28 in the large conference
room on the first floor.
As with last years weather
seminar, it will be conducted by
National Weather Service
trainer Laurie Bradach, who will
discuss the conditions that can
generate dangerous storms and
tornados, as well as ways to
keep us safe, and the safest

locations to seek shelter during

times of high winds.
Last years assessment of our
building showed very good
structural strength in high winds
and even tornados.
But occupants need to keep as
far away as possible from all
windows during powerful winds.
During severe weather, tenants
are advised to seek shelter in
the inner hallways in order to
avoid broken glass and other
flying objects. The only exception is the sixth floor, which has
a large window at the south end
of the inner hallway.

either of the two stairwells on

each floor.
Our basement offers safe and
secure protection from high
winds and tornadoes, as well
as flying glass and debris.
Basements are often considered to be the safest shelter in
any structure, and ours is easy
to access. Its also a safe place
for those on the first floor,
where there are numerous
glass doors and windows.
So please visit our Severe
Storm Safety Seminar on April
28 for more details. And, if
strong winds, storms, and tornados strike, please remember
the many places to seek shelter here at Farnsworth Offices.

Beginning Monday, April 20, and on every Monday and Thursday through the season (on
days when weather permits), Farnsworth Offices will be promoting a series of Power
Walks for tenants and staff who wish to participate. If youd like to participate, just join
the group in the lobby at 12:30pm, and enjoy the healthful benefits of a brisk walk along
the beauty of the scenic Illinois Prairie Path.
