Grade 2 Weekly Update

This week we.
-Continued to work on measurement and
began to understand how to find the
perimeter of a certain area.
-We worked on our Summative
Assessment. We are creating different
projects which demonstrate our new
understanding of informed food choices.
- We completed our persuasive texts.
-We really enjoyed our trip to the Farmit was a perfect way to end the unit.

Next week we will

-We will be starting our NEW and LAST unit
of grade 2 next week. The Unit Letter for
this will be sent out to you on Sunday which
contains all the information about or final
unit.
- We will have an introduction to poetry,
which will be the focus of our English
writing and reading during this final unit
-We will continue with our unit on
Measurement. We will be looking at Area,
Weight and Capacity.
Next Thursday we will be hosting our
Summer Concert- Music Matters. PLEASE
read the note on the second page of this
update.
Next Thursday is also an EARLY RELEASE
day. School finishes at 12:30pm.

Music Matters Concert

Dear GIS Families,
The concert will be separated into two sections. The first section will
begin promptly at 8:15am in the Multi-Purpose Hall with performances
from students in KG1, KG2 and Grade 1. After their performances the KG1,
KG2 and Grade 1 students will return to their classrooms. Following a
brief intermission, the students in Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 will perform
