Diesel Generator operation:

Note:
1. Do not operate any breaker with out prior information to control room
2. Ensure all relays are in reset condition
3. Ensure circuit breaker switch selected to remote.

Standby Operation of Diesel Generator.

1. On under voltage of 1KB/2KB bus 1N/2N will open & 1E/2E will close.
2. Corresponding DG will get start command
3. After voltage buildup 1D/2D will go for close (1KB/2KB charged)

Diesel generator fails to start in auto

1.
2.
3.
4.

Open 1N/2N (if not open /1N can be opened from C.Room)
Close 1E/2E (if not closed / 1E can be closed from C.Room)
Start DG in run mode for manual operation (DG-1 can be started from C.Room.)
Close1D/2D. (1D will close in AUTO if DG-1 is started from C.Room)

Charging the 1KB bus from DG-2 (DG-1 Not available).

1. Open 1N (if not open)
2. Close 1E (if not open)
3. Start DG-2 in run mode.
4. Close2D
5. Close tie breaker2B (Ensure voltage & frequency are normal 435v &50 Hz)
6. Rack out 1D Breaker.
Caution: - Ensure that DG-1 control switch should be in AUTO mode.

Charging the 2KB bus from DG-1 (DG-2 Not available).

6. Open 2N (if not open)
7. Close 2E (if not open)
8. Start DG-1 in run mode.
9. Close 1D.
10. Close tie breaker2B (Ensure voltage & frequency are normal 435v &50 Hz)
6. Rack out 2D Breaker.
Caution: - Ensure that DG-2 control switch should be in AUTO mode.

Paralleling of 1KB&2KB during One DG Not available.

1. Open 1N/2N for which bus required to be charged 1KB/2KB. (If not open.)
2. Close 1E/2E for which bus required to be charged 1KB/2KB (if not close)
3. Start DG in run mode if not started in AUTO. (If DG1 started from Control room
1D will close)
4. Close1D/2D
5. Close tie breaker2B( Ensure voltage & frequency are normal 435v &50 Hz)
Caution. Ensure that Not available diesel generator engine control switch should be in
AUTO mode. & Not available diesel generator breaker (1D/2D) DC off.

Restoration of normal supply

1. Position the synchronizing switch SSW of N breaker to ON
2. Adjust the diesel generator running voltage & frequency equal or slight above
the incoming voltage/frequency & once synchroscope indicates synchronism,
3. Close circuit breaker N (sync check relay prevents out of phase closing.)
4. Ensure E breaker will trip & diesel generator begins its cool down cycle.
