TEACHER'S NOTES
LEXICAL AREA: Descriptions. Personality and appearance adjectives to describe
people.
TARGET LEVEL: 3rd ESO students (intermediate level)
OBJECTIVES:
-Acquisition of vocabulary to describe people.
- Learn positive and negative adjectives to describe personality.
-Be able to manage and do online activities without checking the answers in
advance.
METHODOLOGY:
Students will work independently with their laptops, following the worksheet
guidelines. The teachers role would be the one of controller and advisor, if students
have any doubt.
The activities are offered as something really visual and cartoon-like which will engage
students to do the final task: describing their best friend. With the use of the online
dictionary, students will make a list of the learnt words.

KEY COMPETENCES:
Digital competence, as they work with non-tangible materials.
Communicative competence, as they develop new linguistic competence.
Interaction with the physical world as the final task will be describing a real person they
choose.
Learning to learn competence, as they look themselves the new vocabulary up on an
online dictionary and create their own list of new words.
The autonomy and entrepreneurship is the basis of the activity as there is no need for
the teachers intervention unless necessary or required.
