BE IT ENACTED BY THE MILLERLAND CONGRESS
1 Section 1: Findings
2 Congress makes the following findings

1) The minimum wage in 2014 was 24 percent below its 1968 level even

though U.S. productivity more than doubled and low-wage workers have
5
have much more experience and education than they did in the past.

2) The average CEO makes 933 times a minimum wage worker and it is
7
continuing to increase as the gap between the rich and the poor grows
8
among the general citizens of the United States.

3) A national poll released on January 2015 showed that 75 percent of
10
United States Citizens support raising the federal minimum wage to over
11
12 dollars per hour.

13 Section 2: Purpose

The bill aims at helping working Americans among the lower class to
15 combat daily struggles in life while increasing the nations gross domestic product
16 by billions and generating hundreds of thousands of new jobs at the same time.
17 Moreover, by putting more money in the pockets of Americans who need it the
18 most, the legislation will reduce income inequality between the rich and the poor
19 and improve the peoples economic security for millions.

21 Section 3: General Provisions

In order to provide necessary care to lower class citizens struggling in
23 life and to promote equality in the United States of America, the Wage
24 Extension Act raises the federal minimum wage for employees from 7.25
25 dollars per hour to 9.50 dollars per hour. Furthermore, it mandates all states
26 and territories that originally have no minimum wage laws or have minimum
27 wage laws but below federal set standards to establish appropriate legislation
28 and regulations.

30 Section 4: Definitions
22 - Minimum Wage: The lowest wage permitted by law or by a special agreement.
23 - Productivity: The rate at which goods or services produced especially output
24
per unit of labor.
25 - Gross Domestic Product: The total value of goods produced and services
26
provided in a country during one year.
