PARISH BULLETIN May 17th, 2015

ASCENSION OF THE LORD - LIVING EASTER: GO INTO ALL THE WORLD
Jesus sent the disciples into the whole world and they were effective in that mission. Two thousand years later, we
follow the same call, to go into the whole world, not to bring our message, but to bring the Good News of Christ. Our
words and actions will be most effective when they are an expression of love, when they are lived in the framework of
the commandments.
FR. JOHNS WEBNOTES ASCENSION
Dear brothers and sisters, we have this Advocate; let us not be afraid to turn to him to ask forgiveness, to ask for a
blessing, to ask for mercy! He always pardons us, he is our Advocate: he always defends us! Dont forget this! The
Ascension of Jesus into heaven acquaints us with this deeply consoling reality on our journey: in Christ, true God and
true man, our humanity was taken to God. Christ opened the path to us. He is like a roped guide climbing a mountain
who, on reaching the summit, pulls us up to him and leads us to God. If we entrust our life to him, if we let ourselves be
guided by him, we are certain to be in safe hands, in the hands of our Saviour, of our Advocate.
Pope Francis
General Audience, April 17, 2013
During Jesus earthly ministry it was easy for the disciples to turn to him for guidance. The Ascension did not break
that. Even though we celebrate that Jesus returned to his Father in heaven, we have not lost our guide. All we need to
do is to follow the example of the disciples. Ask and listen. Its easy to ask, but we need to listen more.
FAITH EDUCATION: REGISTRATION
Faith education is a life long endeavour. It is especially important and provides a foundation when there is a desire to
prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments. In order to ensure a meaningful faith experience, we offer a number of

focuses on the call to discipleship; Witnesses of the Covenant encourages young people of 11 years and older to come
together to question and discuss elements of our faith; RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is tailor made to
encourage adults in their faith journeyand for our youngest, Mini-Ministry focuses on encouraging that first spark.
Registration is now taking place for all of these programs. Please call (450) 676-7577 or (450) 671-0416 or email:

in building a society where individual interests do not harm the good of the many? Guest Speaker: Nol Simard,
Bishop of the Diocese of Valleyfield and contributing writer to Awaiting the Charbonneau Commission Report: A
Reflection on Corruption produced by the Assemble des vques Catholiques du Qubec* Bilingual presentation.
