Description of compensation including amount, how and when paid and treatment of taxes, as well as, facilities, and supervision (o be provided by the worksite organization to the student: ‘This is a non-paid internship being done for credit. Interns may get paid up to $35 for setcenings (depending on availability), Upon completing a screening, a service rendered form must be filled ‘out immediately and submitted to the publicist/coordinator in charge of the film by the following day. Units of eredit to be earned: 3_ (require a minimum of 45 hours of work per eredit) ‘Time frame of internship: Start date: January 26, 2015 End date: May 12, 2015 Weekly schedule: Mondays: 9 a.m5 p. generally from 6-9 pm, ; Tuesdays: 2-5 p.m. Occasional film screenings Grading Intern: The student should follow the syllabus provided by the instructor. Supervisor: The supervisor should write an evaluation of the student and send it to the instructor by semester's end It should be signed and on company letterhead. This letter should verify the number hours the student has worked and give a descriptive evaluation of the quatity of work provided by the student during the internship. A copy of the evaluation should be provided to the student. Please note shat students will be allowed to view the evaluation. Instructor's access to evaluate the student Early in the internship the student should coordinate and the organization should welcome an “onsite visit at the worksite for the instructor. The onsite visit should include a tour of the factlity ‘and the student's workspace, and an opportunity to meet and talk briefly with the supervisor. Student Intern’s Goal biectives (including project plan Goal: Gain hands-on public selations experience working on a promotional campaign for a major film release. Objective: Pitci at least three promotional ideas to the publicists to implement for upcoming film releases based on the theme of the movie, potential audience demographics and related societal topics. Objective: Establish and maintain relationships with at least 10 local businesses or organizations relevant to the film release to increase attendance of the target publies at screenings. Goal: Increase knowledge of the process of planning a screening and overseeing the related promotions for at least one film screening at the University of Maryland’s local venue, Objective: Identify potential target publics for a film screening and collaborate with university dopariments, offices and student organizations, Objective: Promote to the campus community and initiate press relations to have press coverage of the screening, Project plan: For my project, I will design an employee newsletter that will be distributed intemnally in the Washington, R:Sopfifice to foster communication ard keep employees informed of all upcoming projects and zecerit successes. In addition to designing the newsletter, I will, create innovative ideas to keep the newsletter interesting and write articles related to Allied. and absenteeism Twill notify my supervisor no later than 5 p.m. the day prior to an absence, In cases of extenuating circumstances, I will notify my supervisor as soon as possible of my absence. For ‘weather related emergencies, I will be in contact with my supervisor of any delays or cancellations by 6 a.m. the day J am scheduled. Rights of the worksite in supervising the student The supervisor has the right to direct the student's work, hours, discipline, and termination. Process of termination ‘Student and supervisor should share concerns with the instructor before taking action to terminate the internship. The student should have permission of the instructor before terminating participation in the internship.
