From India To England
From India To England
Gandhi believed that people could change the world without using
violence. For many years he worked with others to free India from
the British, and in the end he was successful. All his life, he
worked to help poor people. He lived a simple but extraordinary
life and he became the leader of many.
Mohandas and his brother and sister were not allowed to eat
meat, to drink wine, or to smoke, because of their Hindu faith. But
secretly, Mohandas and his brother Karsandas began to smoke
cigarettes, and later he copied a school friend began to eat meat.
But because of his love for his mother, he soon stropped both
eating meat and smoking.
