Super artists newsletter!

Dear Parents:

Hope you had a relaxing weekend! This


week the kids were so happy displaying
their art projects to you and to all AIS
parents and visitors through our art
show display by the main gate.
Another great event that took place this
week was the visit we had from Mr.Bryn
Bernard one of the high school teachers
and a really unique and remarkable artist!
He demonstrated to our kids how to
draw a dinosaur with chalk and other art
material in an interactive way with the
kids and they had a real wonderful live
art experience!

Math Inquiry:

We will continue working on subtraction


through different games and activities.
We will also continue practicing counting
till 100 and reviewing our various
mathematical concepts.

This Wednesday May 20th :


Student-led conferences 5:30-8:30.
Monday May 25th : Water table day
Wednesday May 27th : Water pools day.
Thursday May 21st : School spirit day.
Thursday May 28th : Dress down day.
Monday June 1st : Students last day.

Literacy Inquiry:

This week we will be focusing on


letter V. We will be creating a volcano
activity , a vegetables salad, working on our
journals for letter V and we will be
working on our leveled books.

Unit of Inquiry:
Central idea:
Expression of ideas and feelings can be
demonstrated creatively through the arts.
This week we will be focusing on expressing
ourselves through feelings , we will be
discussing facial expressions and how our
feelings can be depicted from the way we look
or behave. The kids will have lots of acting
activities where they will be asked to express
to their friends a particular feeling,
Happy, sad, angry, sleepy,..etc.

Home Connection:

You can help your child read


and/or write sight words and
simple sentences like I am a
boy/girl, This is a caretc. Lets
have fun learning!
