    It is an Indian Tropical tree.


    Commonly known as mahua, mahwa, lluppai.
    Fast growing tree that grows to 20m in height possesses
    evergreen or semi-evergreen foliage.

    USES
    Cultivated in warm and humid regions for its seeds,
    flowers, wood.
    The fat is used for the care of the skin, to
    manufacture soap or detergents, vegetable butter,
    fuel oil.
    The seed cakes obtained after extraction of oil
    constitute very good fertilizer.

    MAHUWA FLOWERS
    It is edible and is a food item for tribals.
    Syrup for medicinal purpose
    Used to manufacture jam, which is being
    made by tribal cooperativs in the
    Gadchirolli district of maharashtra. e
