    manycontinuitiesinmypapersthroughouttheyear,suchasmy

    syntax
    ,whichremainedvery
    mathematicalandstructured,InoticedthatIhadgreatlyimprovedontheflowofmywritingas
    wellasthestructureofmywritingthroughouttheyear.Sinceitwouldbefairlydifficultto
    referenceeverypaperthatIhavewrittenthissemester,ImgoingtojustusemyItemthat
    RepresentsMepapertorepresentmywritingnearthebeginningoftheyearandmyrhetorical
    analysisof
    AModestProposal
    torepresentmywritingneartheendoftheyear.
    IhadtoreadovermypaperswhenIwastryingtoreflectonhowmywritinghadchanged
    overtheyear,andIalmostimmediatelynoticedthedifferenceinflowandstructureasthepapers
    werewrittencloserandclosertotheendoftheyear.Althoughflowisntsomethingthatcanbe
    easilyquantifiedinwriting,itrevealeditselfthroughhowlongittookmetoreadeachpaperand
    throughhowenjoyableitwastoreadeachpaper.Forexample,inmyItemthatRepresentsMe
    paper,Iwrote,TwistoneofthesidesoftheRubiksCubeonce,anditonlylooksalittlemore
    different.Twistitagain,anditlooksevenmoredifferent,almostcomplex.Thesentencesinthat

    paperareveryrawandstraightforwardwithfewtransitionwordsorconnectingideas,preventing
    itfromflowingverywell.Ontheotherhand,inmyrhetoricalanalysisof
    AModestProposal
    ,I
    wrote,AnotherrhetoricaldevicethatSwiftusesinthisexcerptishisreasonable,intelligent
    voice.Althoughthevoicemaynotseemtobereasonablebecauseofthepreposterousproposal
    thatitispropagating,thedictionthatheusesandthewayinwhichheusesitisverystructured
    andwouldmakethepaperveryconvincingifnotforthemacabresubjectoftheessay.This
    paperhadanentirelydifferentstructure,withmuchlongerandsmoothersentences,andmore
    connectingideasbetweenthosesentences,makingitmuchmoreflowingandeasiertoread.
    Eventhoughmyflowandstructurehascertainlyimprovedthroughouttheyear,thereare
    stillmanythingsthatImustworkoninordertodevelopasawriter.Ineedtodevelopmore
    complexdiction,andIneedtopracticedevelopingmorecomplexideasinmypapers.My
    journeyasawriterhasjustbegun,andIwillcontinuetopracticemyskillsuntilIamthebest
    writerthatIcanpossiblybe.
