A AS HIS CUSTOM. Luke 4:16.

What does Luke mean when he speaks of Church

attendance as a Sabbath custom of Jesus?
How should we make it our custom too?
We can worship God anywhere, but its good to do it
TOGETHER at one place.
Thus we publicly testify to Jesus as our Creator and
Redeemer.
We can share our joy and our concerns when we come
together.
B SABBATH ACTIVITY. Luke 4:31-36.
Teaching: Jesus taught with authority.
Healing: Jesus healed with authority (He casted out demons
at the synagogue).
Jesus still has the same authority He had. Are you giving
Jesus authority to lead your life?
C THE LORD OF THE SABBATH. Luke 6:1-10.
In what sense is Jesus the Lord of the Sabbath?
How did Jesus face the accusation that He transgressed the
Sabbath?
Jesus gave the Sabbath its proper meaning: It is lawful to
do good and to save lives on the Sabbath
D THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SABBATH. Genesis 2:3;
Exodus 20:8-11.
Keeping the Sabbath gives us major physical and spiritual
benefits:
Listening to the Word of God (Luke 4:17)
Resting in Christ (Hebrews 4:1)
Remembering our Creator (Genesis 2:3)
Celebrating our Redemption (Deuteronomy 5:15)
E HOW TO KEEP THE SABBATH. Luke 4:31-40; 6:6-11;
13:10-16; 14:1-6.
How and why should we observe the Sabbath in doing
works of mercy?
What distinguishes between work that is permissible on the
Sabbath and work that is not?
What can we do to keep the Sabbath in a better way?
