FINAL PORTFOLIO PROJECT
In place of a final exam, you will create a portfolio that has several purposes:
Illustrate your development as a student and writer
Demonstrate your ability to reflect on and analyze your own work
Begin developing a serious, ongoing digital portfolio that will be useful for
internships, college and graduate school, and future career opportunities
IN THE PORTFOLIO:
Professional Section
1. Include a photo and brief personal bio in an About Me section
2. Include an updated resume (we will work on this in class as well)
Academic Section
3. Include a minimum of six artifacts in the academic portion. You can include
more.
4. Include at least three written artifacts from your English or other academic
classes this year. You can include up to three artifacts from previous years.
5. Write an introductory reflection* for each piece you include (see below).
6. If you include more than six pieces, write a reflection for each, but select the
six you would like your teacher to grade.
OPTIONAL Sections
Think about what would be useful for you.
Pictures of your artwork
Films or videos you have created, or of acting you have done
Songs you have composed or recorded
More work from other academic subjects
Examples of volunteer projects you have worked on
Other artifacts that might shed light on the details of your resume
*Introductory Reflection Requirements
For each of your six academic artifacts, write a healthy-sized paragraph (or a couple
of smaller ones) that tells:
What assignment it addressed
Why you selected the artifact
The strengths of the piece as you see them
What you would change or improve if you revised it
How it reflects your development as a writer
You will choose from one of these three web tools to develop your digital portfolio:
Weebly, Wordpress, or Wikispaces

The final portfolio is due at the date and time of your scheduled senior exam in
English. A rubric will be provided by May 2, but the overall point value will be 25%
of your 4th marking period grade.
