A Sneak Peek!
Get a sneak preview of the Quality Assurance in RPL Manual, and give CAPLA some feedback on a few
proposed quality assurance checklists.
Welcome to CAPLAS third webinar in the series on quality assurance for the Recognition of Prior Learning
(also called Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) and its implications for practice. This is part of a
larger Pan-Canadian RPL Quality Assurance Project by CAPLA, with funding by the Government of Canadas
Foreign Credential Recognition program.
RPL is incorporated into a range of services to help individuals identify, document, assess and recognize
their learning for various purposes. Our first two webinars explored RPL, guiding principles, support
resources, and other topics (If you missed the first two webinars, see the recordings here). The May 27th
webinar will:
Provide an overview of the QA in RPL Manual which is in its final stages of development
Offer an opportunity to view and comment on some of the key checklists/quality audits being
developed for those who use RPL
Provide us with additional suggestions of organizations that represent some good case examples of
incorporating quality RPL processes and procedures that might be referenced in the Manual
All input will help inform our project outcomes, resulting in a manual that will help:
enhance the assessment of the learning of immigrants and other individuals through RPL across various
work contexts and purposes of RPL
promote a culture of continuous improvement
increase organizational effectiveness
