Hi friends!

Welcome to the twenty-eighth volume of the KIPPton Weekly Blast! Now for the
shout-out train. In all of the classrooms I was in this week, students were being
asked to engage in rigorous activities related to academic content and/or
challenged to think about issues related to social justice. In Missys and Mishas
classroom students were doing station work, which was framed in business jargon
with board meetings to reflect on group progress half-way through stations and
groups earning salaries based on teamwork, thoroughness of responses and overall
productivity. In Sams writing class students were working with focused
determination to argue the three events most critical in causing the American
Revolution. In both Kacees and Ramseys class, students exhibited self-direction in
how they wanted to prepare for the MAPs test. In Jesses class, his 5 th graders were
eagerly eating up the concept of plotting ordered pairs, a 6 th grade concept.
For those of you who still have testing, either OCCT make-ups or MAPs, we are
sending you, and your students, our support and best wishes!
Now to what is quickly becoming the highlight of my week, hearing from your
students about your wonderful work as educators and people. Here are words from
one of Mr. Kaufmans students. One of Ms. Buchmans students, Jadon, was a little
nervous getting recorded so he wrote down his thoughts to the questions. Check
them out here.
