THRISSUR MOTOR SHOW 2014 INAUGURAL CEREMONY SCRIPT

SCRIPT- OCTOBER 16th 2014

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. A hearty welcome to all who have assembled here this
evening for the inaugural function of the 10th edition of Thrissur Motor Show. This muchawaited Auto Expo being organised by the Mechanical Engineering Department of
Government Engineering College, Thrissur will take place at Thekkinkad Maidan from
October 16th-19th. The event that draws around 50,000 people every year was hailed by the
national daily, THE HINDU as the BEST STUDENT ORGANIZED AUTO EXPO OF
SOUTH INDIA in the year 2005.
Let me begin by introducing our distinguished guests for the evening. We are truly privileged
and fortunate to have Shri.----- as our Chief Guest of the day. It is my pleasure to welcome
Dr.K.Vijayakumar (Principal of Government Engineering College Thrissur), Prof
C.P.Sunilkumar (Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering), Asst. Prof. Sajith C
Subramanian (Staff Convenor) and Harikrishnan S (Chief Coordinator) to this function.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we commence the function now by invoking the blessings of the
almighty. I request to render the prayer song. Let us all rise for the prayer
song.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me request Prof C.P.Sunilkumar (Head of Department, Mechanical
Engineering) to deliver the welcome address.

According to the Indian tradition, lighting of the lamp marks the auspicious beginning of an
occasion. I would request our guests on the dais to inaugurate the function with lighting the
lamp ceremony.
