In the context of the ongoing talks, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and leader of the main opposition party Zoran Zaev met with MEPs Ivo Vaigl, Eduard Kukan, Richard Howitt and Commissioner Hahn in Strasbourg on 19-20 May 2015. The MEPs and Commissioner Hahn welcomed the efforts of the party leaders to work towards an agreement in the interest of all citizens of the country and to address challenges arising from the crisis in accordance with European standards. The parties confirm commitment to EU integration process and democratic principles and agreed to put the interest of the country first. The MEPs and Commissioner Hahn welcomed the frank discussions on key issues of contention. All parties agreed on the importance of continued meetings.
