Consumers lodged hundreds of complaints against telecom companies between January and August of 2013. Here is one of the more unusual complaints, obtained by The Canadian Press through an Access to Information request. One person alleges Bell accidentally cancelled their phone service instead of renewing his contract. Bell said it investigates and tries to resolve all service complaints. It said it can't look into how a specific complaint was handled without identifying information, which was redacted by the CRTC. In regards to this complaint, the CRTC said it does not intervene in issues such as retail rates, equipment, billing, marketing practices and quality of service.

Hello.
| would just like a bit more information. | have been fighting with Bell after recently renewing my
contract. The first two bills were very high (approx $600) becasue they were still under the
impression | was cancelling my service. After sorting this out | thought | was fine. What had
happened however, was becasue the cancellation wasn't removed by bell when I renewed my
contract, they had continued with the cancellation of my service. They shut my service off the
night of Halloween, and | was supposed to pick up my girlfriend when she called, Anyways, | was
left without service becasue of lack of communication within Bell. My girffriend was also out of
contact with me and waiting alone outside on Halloween. I've gone as high as | can in Bell, can
you please just help me cancel out, I've just started with them in a new term and don't want to
finish out the next 2 1/2 years.
Let me know thanks
