To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to applaud Alex Mejia for his academic performance in science for the 2014/15 school
year. Alex was a student in my 9/10 Integrated Science class for two years and he is currently enrolled
in my Advanced Biology class as a junior. Alex is a spirited student who has clear life goals. His
participation in soccer helps him to keep his future goals at the forefront of his academic experience
while at Windsor High School.
In addition to attending school, Alex volunteers at a local animal shelter and has applied his skills in
soccer working as a referee. While he earns below average grades, he could improve this by being
more focused during class time. He often struggles to maintain his focus for an entire block period. He
does, however, understand concepts and excels when he is able to find his focus. He is a happy and
well-liked student. Others like to work with Alex and he does seek help when needed.
It is my hope that Alex continues to improve his studies into his senior year. He clearly can take his
strengths and turn them into employment opportunities, as referenced above. I believe strongly that
with a little more focus and determination, Alex will reach his life goals of being self-employed and
earning a good living. He has great tools, an eager and happy personality and an inquisitive mind.
Sincerely,
