Reading: work on fluency and reading
strategies
Writing: work on writing about summer
plans

Classroom News
I was unable to get a newsletter
out last week due to our field trip, but I
wanted to thank all of our chaperones! We
had a wonderful time at the zoo. Although
it was a bit cloudy, it turned out to be a
great zoo day! All of the animals were out
and active! It was a great experience.
This week in our classroom we have
been working on reviewing our high frequency words and reading more fluently
during our reading block. There will be no
more books being sent home for homework, but I am sending home the words
they have written out on index cards to be
practiced at home. In math, we are learning about shapes and in science we engineered a shade structure to analyze the
effect of sunlight on various surfaces. We
are continuing to learn about Mary in theology and writing about some of the
books we are reading.

Math: finish learning about geometry

Theology: we will hear some of Jesus
parables
Science: finish learning about how sunlight
effects the earths surface
Social Studies: complete our last unit
about rights and responsibilities.

Friendly Reminders

Please remember to
check your childs folder and backpack each day. We will have many
items coming home as we get closer
to the last day of school!
