Mouthwatering thats is my very first impression upon watching the documentary

Ang Piging Para kay Rizal. The documentary tells us about the different kinds of dish
commonly present in a Filipino table during the time of Rizal and most of it shown was
either the favorite dish of Rizal or it was mentioned in his writings.
The dishes that Rizal ate during his time was no different from the ones being eaten
by the majority of the Filipinos during that time. This only shows that he is an ordinary
person like us, he likes the kind of food ordinary people would also like and there is no
such thing as special food that one needs to eat in order to become a national hero.
It was also shown in the documentary how he truly love the taste of the Filipino food
as evident when he was in Europe that even though of many good food found there he
still prefer and ate pancit which was a common dish in the Philippines during his time. He
even over estimate the food he cooked once that he and his roommate ate it for 2 days
before it was fully consumed.
The documentary goes to show that no matter what kind of food you ate, that doesnt
determine what kind of person you will come to be in the future. Some people who feasts
in delicious food are those kind of people who would step down on others or steal from
them in other to earn the money to buy that kind of food. Some people who humbly feasts
on bread alone are happily eating it without any concern for it was a product of a hard
days work.
