ECE401OPTICAL COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKS

LTPC
2002

Version1.1
Aim and Objectives:
The aim and objective of the course is to impart knowledge on optical fibers, sources, detectors and
amplifiers to design point to point optical systems, WDM systems and to understand SONET/SDH
network architectures
OUTCOMES:
1. Ability to design, analyze and evaluate the performance of optical communication systems.
2. Ability to solve the problems arising due to the non linearities of optical fibers.
