INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR IGNITION CONTROL REPLACEMENT KIT

1= Ignition control (Either RAM 48J6601 or Fenwal
486901)
1—Ignition lead
4-1/4" Quick connect terminations
Replacement ignition control for Fenwal ignition control
9862901.
9—Connect wiring and ignition lead to replacement
control as shown in figures 2 or 3.
10—Replaceall panels and restore power to unit. Confirm
proper heating operation with a thermostat demand
for heating.
NOTE~These instructions do not supersede local codes
in any way. Authorities having jurisdiction should be
consulted before installation.
1— Disconnect all power to unit.
2~Remove compressor and/or bumer access panel.

Locate ignition contro! on standoff bracket fastened 4 fF
to vestibule panel.

4— Disconnect four-wire hamess jack/plug (J58/P58)
connectorandignition lead from ignition control. See
figure 1. Remove ignition control from unit.
5~ Disconnectather end ofignition lead from ignitor and
discard. Connect one end of noise suppression
ignition lead, provided in kit, to ignitor.
6— Cut burner control jack J58 off of burner control wire
hamess. See figure 1. Crimp 1/4” quick connect
terminations to each wire.
7—Using the replacementignition controlas a template,
mark new installation holes in same location as
previous control. Drill two 1/6” diameter holes for
mounting screws.
'8~ Secure new ignition control in place with two #8-S2
X3/4 screws.
