speechaboutviolenceandhavingpeaceintheworldsinceherhusbandisgoneandthatwastheother
racemainfocus.
CorettaScottKingwasbornonApril27,1927.ShewasborninHeiberger,Alabama.Herfamily
membersareEdytheScottBagley,ObadiahLeonard,andEuniceScott.HersisterEdytheScottBagleyis
anAmericanAuthor,Activist,andEducator.Herchildhoodwasbadbecausethereweresomanyracist
peopleinherneighborhoodthatwantedherlynched.
CorettaScottKingstudiedtobeacivilrightsactivistandapreacherswife.Her
inspirationwasPresidentRoosevelt.Hewasherinspirationbecausehiswordswereso
meaningfulhisverydeepvoice,bothspeakingandsingingCorettaScottKing.Shewas

introducedtoMartinLutherKingJr.clubwhentheywerefirstmarriedandhetookpartinthe
Montgomerybusboycott.ShewasanAmericanCivilRightsMovementandthewifeofthe
CivilRightsMovement.

InCorettaScottKingLifesomechallengeswasherhousegettingbombed,herhusbandbeing

assasinatedandshehaveastrokethenaweeklatershedied.Sheovercameherlifechallengesbytaking
inconsiderationaboutwhatpeoplesaidanddoingsomethingaboutit.

Intheworldtherewaslynchingandracismnotjusttowardsherbuttowardsherwholefamilyand
others.Sheiswellknownforbeingthefirstblackafricanamericanwomeninthecivilrightsmovement.
Shewasdiffrentfromothersbybringingpeaceintheworldwithoutherwewouldnthavesomuch
freedomnow.Threewordstoexplainherisconfident,independent,andstrongbecauseshedidsomuch
andshekeptdoingeverythingshewouldnttoaccomplisheventhoughitwashard.Theworsethingsthat
theotherracesaidtoherwasshewasgoingtodiethencalledherawholebunchofniggers.
CorettaScottKinggreatestownershipwerebeingthefirstladyoftheCivilRightsmovementand
graduatingfromhighschoolandcollege.Thepersonwhohelpedherachieveheraccomplishmentswere
hermotherandherhusband.IttookhernotlongsinceJune18,1953,toacheivehergoals.Differentrace
triedtostopherandherhusbandMartinLutherKingJr.
WhenCorettaScottKingaccomplishedhergoalsitwasinSeptember1954.Theeventstookplace
happeningbecausetheotherracedidntwanthertobecomewhatsheistodaywhichisafamous,known
person.Itimpactedheraccomplishmentssinceracismgoingonaroundherandtheotherrace(Whites)not
wantingherandtheotherAfricanAmericanpeoplearoundinthecity.Itchangedbyhavingmore
opportunitiesandfreedombeingtogetherandnotsplituporseperatedanymore.

CorettaScottKingwasagreatperson.TheimpactonCorettaScottKingissheasawellknown
personandstrong.SheisstilltalkedaboutbecauseshewasthefirstAfricanAmericanWomentobein
theCivilRightsMovement.Peopleintheworldcanlearnthattonevertakeadvantageoffreedomwe
didntearnourfreedomourselvesourancestorsdid.Theworldwouldbediffrentbecauseshehelpedus
gainourfreedombackandweallisequalmeaningnooneisseperatedanymore.Themostimportantfact
isCorettaScottKingwasthefirstBlackAfricanAmericanwomentostarttheCivilRightsMovement.
ThisisimportantforpeopletoknowbecauseshemarchedandstartedtheCivilRightsMovement.

InconclusionCorettaScottKingwassomeonewhowasspecialtoeveryoneherandherhusbandwas
trulylovedbyeveryone,becauseshewasthebrightestandbravestbecauseshewastheretosupporther
husbandduringtheCivilRightsMovementbackinthedaywhostoodupforwhatshebelievedin.
CorettaScottKingremindedmeofMichelleObamabecausesheisstrongandcarriesherselfwell,So
doesCorettaScottKing.
