Short story

You have decided to enter a story competition advertised in the University's English
magazine. The story must begin with these words:
I was standing in the rain. I had no car, no money and no phone, and I was miles from the
nearest village. Write 150-170 words.
Remember to plan your work so that your story has a clear beginning (setting the scene - para 1),
some development (what happens - para 2 and 3) and a resolution (para 4). Try to use a variety of
narrative tenses and interesting vocabulary!
