Step 1: Explain the question or problem to be tested.

Background knowledge/research/
observations Ive already made about the topic

My experiment is instant ice. I know that the bottle will turn to stable ice just when we touch the bottle with
the ice.

Write a question or describe a problem I want to test with my experiment:

To write a question, use this format: How does ---- affect ---?
To describe a problem, use some version of the word effect or affect
How does the ice affect the bottle?

Step 2: Formulate & Explain your Prediction

What I think could happen and why?

The bottle will freeze with just one touch of ice.

Step 3: Design method (your steps)

Materials:
Quantity/
Number
(how many
do you
need)

Size

Object

(when
necessary)

I(include a picture if it is helpful)

3 ice
cubes

Ice cubes

Food colouring (If necessary)

Water

Freezer

Bowl

Methods:
What are the steps in your experiment?
Description of what to do

Picture or diagram
(if it is helpful to explain how to do the step)

1.

Get all materials needed

2.

Put the bottle in the freezer at -22C.

3.

Wait 2hrs and 45mins till you take it out

4.

You have three options on how to do instant ice.

5.

You can slowly pour some water on crushed ice and It

makes a tower of ice. Or to make your own sculpture.

6.

Or you can drop some ice in the bottle and the water
turns stable

7.

The last option is when you just touch the water with the
ice and it turns stable

8.

Then you may eat it because its 100% eatable, That

when you use the food coloring to make it a bit more
tastier.

What warnings, if any, might you need to make in doing this experiment?

Step 4: Explain possible changes

To identify your CHANGES:
What changes could be made to give you a clearer picture?
Adding or removing equipment, changing the materials or the environment, etc

Step 5: Interpret & Explain Results

Experiment results
Make a list of the results that you noticed/observed or
calculated from the experiment

Conclusions
For each result, write what the results might mean

(you might have to do some scientific research for this step!)

The result was the ice made the water stable just
by a touch of it.

Step 6: Further Questions

What might you still be wondering about
your problem/research question?

The energy I used was potential energy and kinetic

energy and mechanical energy.
