Reflection:
I believe student learning is much more measurable through common core assessments.
The way we previously assessed students, they could easily memorize the answers as
they just had to produce the correct answer, not necessarily show how they got that
answer. In the above samples, the students had to not only produce the correct answer,
but also show how they did it. This type of assessment also allows the teacher to see at
what point the student stops understanding. This provides the teacher with valuable
information on how to help the student truly understand how to do the problem.
