Star of the
Week!

Whats Happening in First

Grade?
Language Arts:
This and last week we focused on the /aw/ pattern in
spelling. We also learned how to determine when to
use I or Me when speaking and writing. We finished a
new writing piece about how Seedsational our year
was in first grade and discussed our favorite parts of
the past year.

Math:

Our star of the week

last week was
Paddy! He likes
music, gym, and
science. He wants
to be a baseball

This week we finished our second chapter on counting

coins and took our chapter test. We started our new
(and final!) chapter where we will be learning how to
tell time on both a digital and analog clock. Our very
last math test will be next Friday.

Science:
The kids were very sad to say goodbye to our 5 chicks.
Thanks to Mr. Sadler, the chickens have found
themselves a nice new home at a farm in Michigan!

Important Reminders
The SJA carnival will be held at school starting June
4th through June 7th
Monday, June 8th is Field Day! Students will wear
either blue or gold and lunch will be provided on this
