Problem Statements
Providence-- only 1 in 3 children enter school with
appropriate reading levels (Providence Talks)
Low-income children hear, on average, 30 million
words less than high-income children (Betty Hart,
professor in Child Development)
Trouble learning new words throughout their education

Some parents arent confident in their ability to


help their child academically (Margaret Finders,
professor in English Education)

Our first meeting will be on Tuesday April 14th
from 4-5 in Martis room!
Every Wednesday right after school, we will go
to Veterans to work with the kids.
