Orchard Mesa Death Investigation
Case # 10-008087
(Grand Junction, CO)- The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating the death of a
person whose body was found inside a car on Orchard Mesa. At approximately 6:30 pm a
citizen called 911 to report a person inside of a car who was not moving. Police officers arrived
and found the person deceased at the scene. They also found indications there may be some
hazardous materials in the area and called in the Grand Junction Fire Department Hazardous
Materials Team. The Haz-Mat team set up a safe zone around the area while they worked to
determine if there were in fact hazardous materials in the area and to allow them to determine the
proper course of action. Investigators did not find any indications of foul play. At this time the
Mesa County Coroner’s Office is working to determine the identity of the person, as well as the
cause of death. That information will be released by the Coroner’s Office investigators once
they have completed their investigation.

Because of the ongoing police investigation there will not be any more updates until after 9am
tomorrow (Thursday).
