Mrs. Kyles Last Minute Review Guide

Testing
There are two days for the
Math SOL test. The first day
is the non-calculator part that
primarily covers problem
solving, decimals, and
fractions. The second day has
a calculator and contains the
rest of the SOLs, primarily
SOLs 5.7-5.19 (and SOL 5.3
prime/composite numbers).

To Study Monday Evening:

1. Look over your Practice SOL Test analysis. What skills
did you miss on numbers 1-16? Use these skills to guide
your study.
2. Look at your Spiral Review Homework. What skills did
you identify for needing more work? Redo incorrect
problems.
3. If you still dont understand, look at your study guide, in
your textbook, or at the websites I provided on the
review packet. See other items that I place on this sheet.

SOL 5.5 Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Decimals

Most students do
well with decimals.
Just remember that
you do NOT have
to line up decimals
for multiplication.
You MUST line up
decimals for
addition and
subtraction.
For division, you
bring the decimal
straight up. Use
grid paper to help
you with this!
