Dates To Remember

Our guest speaker was Harvard Graduate Student, Jean You, who traveled
from Boston to present us her study on Grant City. It offers innovative
designs of infrastructure in a post-Sandy community. A special thanks to
Jean for also bringing along the necessary technology , given her long
journey. Her complete study has been posted to our website.
Elena Brady, of Councilman Matteos office, announced the giveaway of
rain barrels and a guide to NYC property taxes.

Patricia Salas, of Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis office was introduced


as the new Community Liaison.

Jan Klucevsek, of the NYPL New Dorp Branch, announced the Invest In
Libraries campaign which entails a letter-writing campaign to our electeds
for necessary funding.

Anthony Basile, of Borough President Oddos office, provided information


on a collaborative clean-up event of Grant City, along the railroad
property. Several groups, lead by Where-To-Turn, will be offering their
help and additional volunteers are needed.

Our June meeting will the final of the 2014/2015 season.
