Waterproofness
Make sure that you do not press the push start when the watch
is wet. Water can get into the casing via the push start, and
damage the watch mechanism. Salt and thermal water can lead
to corrosion of metal parts.
Please note that in the case of extreme differences in
temperature (e.g. from the sauna to the plunge pool, from
sunbathing to the cold sea), the waterproofness can no longer
be guaranteed. Due to the temperature differences,
condensation can form, and therefore the watch mechanism
can be damaged.

2.5
Electromagnetic compatibility
2.6
Environmental temperature
Information:
Disturbances to the display in the temperature area from -10
C to 0 C are not to be attributed to the watch, but rather the
impairment of the battery in the cold.
The electrochemical processes in batteries and accumulators
are strongly influenced by the environmental temperature. The
more the temperature falls, the more severely the processes are
impaired during discharging. Therefore, please note that at
temperatures below freezing point, the battery and/or
accumulator can "freeze", which results in the life span of the
battery and/or accumulator being impaired.

The GPS watch has a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Polymerrechargeable battery. Charge this for at least 3 hours, before
the first use of the GPS watch.
In order to avoid corrosion, we recommend drying off the
contact points of the GPS watch well, before starting a
charging process.
Attach the clip of the USB cable to the GPS watch, as shown
in the following illustration. Plug the USB cable into a live
USB port in your computer. It is not necessary to install a
driver to charge the rechargeable battery.

WARNING:
Please ensure that the watch does not automatically delete the
memory, with your recorded data, when connecting with your
computer.
To this end, you must deactivate the automatic deletion of the
memory during a data transfer, when transferring data from
the watch to your computer in the GPS master, under
settings/options.
If the memory of the watch is full, and no more recordings can
be made, then the time recording for training in the training
mode can no longer be started. This means, the ST./STP.button can no longer be pressed.
However, before the memory is full, "memory full!" will
appear on the display of the GPS watch. If the training time or

11 Technical data
GPS watch
Power supply: lithium polymer rechargeable battery, 380
mAh, 3.7V
28mA)
(1 x 3.7V
Precision of GPS: 3 metres CEP (50%) in the open air
The data for precision relates to the 50% CEP (Circular Error
Probability). This means, that with very good satellite
reception 50% of all measurements are located in a circle with
76
the stated radius of 3m. However, this also means that half of
the measurement points are outside of this radius.
Furthermore it is also the case that 95% of all measurement
points are located within a circle with double the stated radius.
Almost all points are therefore located within a circle with a
6m radius in the case of very good satellite reception.
12 Declaration of conformity
R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EG, RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU:
Short text on declaration of conformity: hereby, Krippl
watches declares, that the GPS watch (art. no.. AA3-GPSU77
4A/B/C/D, type: D02I980) and the chest strap (art. no. AA3GPSU-4, type:T00018D) are in compliance with the basic
requirements, and the remaining relevant conditions of the
guidelines 1999/5/EC and 2011/65/EC.
You can find the complete text of the declaration of
conformity on our homepage (http://www.produktservice.info

13 FAQ/troubleshooting
Please check whether the rechargeable battery is charged
and if necessary charge it.
Please also check the battery in the transmitting unit and
replace it if necessary.
Please inform us via email the details of your issue stating the
article number of the product.
For additional help of your GPS watch, please use the FAQ'S
(frequently asked questions) which can be found on our
product service page on the internet.
http://www.produktservice.info
EAN: 26172330
I would like to start the training, why doesn't the GPS
watch show the speed?
For a fast GPS reception the watch must be lying still and not
in motion. Before starting your running training and/or your
journey, place your GPS watch in an open space with a clear
78
view of the sky (e.g. on the window sill or the car roof) and
start the search for satellites.
Please also note point 5 "general information about GPS
reception" in the instruction manual.
What does the display "GPS lost" mean?
"GPS lost" on the display of the GPS watch means that it has
not received any GPS signal or has lost all satellite signals.
See point 6.3.3 "training" in the instruction manual.
Why can't I see anything on the display?
Why doesn't the display illumination work?
Check whether the rechargeable battery has been charged and
if necessary charge it up. If you still can't see anything on the
display please contact the service address.
Why is the screen black, the displays are illegible?
This is caused by being exposed to direct sunlight or excessive
ambient temperature for too long. Let the GPS watch cool
down and then the screen will be legible again.
The display is reacting slowly?
Is the temperature below 0 C? When the temperature rises
above 0 C, the display will normalise again. Saved data will
not be lost due to this.
